  • Anyone very familiar with Bayside, Whitestone Queens area?

I am looking for a restaurant to go to, but will give specifics of what I am looking for if anyone thinks they can help. Thanks

I know a little, can't say a lot. Good Greek on Northern Blvd a little west of Bayside and Thai on Bell. I'd have to clear the cobwebs for names, but shouldn't be too hard if you are interested.

Bayside Bell Blvd has IMO the best Steak house in NY if not the US. Uncle Jacks is my favorite.
There was also a good place on 35 ave and Bell but my wife just told me they changed owners

Here are the particulars of what I am looking for. My DH and I both grew up there, but our brains are fuzzy and many establishments have come and gone. My DH needs to plan a dinner for 20-30 retired FDNY EMS people and he is looking for something in that area this time. He is looking for moderately priced and somewhere that would have a small separate room. WE went into Bayside and ate at the Greek Restaurant "Kati Allo" on 29th and 172nd St.I felt the food was so so, but my DH felt it was a good option. That was one month ago and they were supposed to email DH menu ideas instead of everyone picking whatever they wanted. He has called twice and they have yet to do so. I feel that he should go else where if they do not seem so interested in the business. I feel that he should find an "American" or "Italian" restaurant.

Thanks Frank. That was one of the names my memory was searching for.

The greek place I'm thinking of doesn't have a private room, but it might accommodate your group. It's Mythos, (718) 357-6596. Northern Blvd around 200th street. I haven't eaten there in a while but I used to love their lemon chicken. Sounds like Frank has steered you more in the direction you are looking for.

Thanks. My hubby is working in Flushing on Tuesday so he will research those places.
