  • Summer is over

It was 90 deg on Monday with a high today in the mid 50s. We have a frost warning for tonight.

I pulled in my squash from from one garden. I did okay, dozen acorn and 3 of something else. I did not plant potatoes in that bed this year, but still pulled out several pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes that must have been from last year and made it through the winter.

Tomatoes had a very poor crop this year, temps did not work for them. It was too hot day and night for them to set fruit, now with the early frost, no chance of the green fruit becoming red. I have some covered...and fingers crossed. I really want seeds from one plant.

Sometime it is tough living in Minnesota with this short growing season.

I know the feeling. I had the same problem when I lived in North Dakota.

We had a frost advisory last night, but no frost. Not sure about tonight either.

It felt cool here too so I went outside this afternoon and looked on the thermometer and it was only 72 F. It was quite cool last night too but I heard that it will be much warmer tomorrow. September is normally our warmest month.
