  • Voltage Converter Question

Any recomendations for a good voltage converter which is able to handle a computer's needs? We're heading to Rome the last of the month.

Laptop I assume-check the power rating on the power adapter. It is likely rated 100-240VAC 50/60Hz. If so, the only thing you would need to do is to find a power cord to plug into the adapter (if it is an IEC plug) or an power adapter connector to change the standard straight plug into their power plug style.

Thanks. I've heard horror stories of computers being fried, so I assumed we needed a voltage converter. Not needing one gives me one less thing to "make sure I've covered" before we go.

If your hair dryer will work on your converter, the laptop requires far less amperage. Check your lap top transformer, on laptop power cord, should by 50/60 cycles.

Were you able to check the power supply to verify the rating?

If it is a universal supply and has the ratings I listed above, you will be fine, other than the cord end will need to be corrected for the country power.

All our settings on the transformer are good, so all we need is the adaptor plug.

              Thanks.
