I bet the renter has a whole different story then this guy...shame when people get treated as paychecks instead of as people

Wow.
If you hear from her again, I would respond one last time saying that her unit would be ready for her on those dates. And that you will not be responding to any further communication from her.
You are one patient guy.

Not worth the money
I have had some bad rentals, but this one takes the cake. Chasing people who say they want to rent, but then never send money is one thing but this is way beyond that. Like Frank, I would have stopped responding a long time ago. Although, my response emails would have probably been a little more curt then yours.

It is too painful. Send the money back via Paypal, to end the story.
I had once deal with a "crazy" renter, who refused to send the 2ed 50% of rent arguing he will send after the check-in when anything is "ok". After talked with him twice on the phone, I sent the money back. He was angry of course; got a couple of email, and a notice of dispute through Paypal. Luckily for us, it is on Paypal record; never heard from him again.

Can you just refund her the money and cancel this rental?
If she's filed a dispute with paypal that sounds like she wants out. If you don't refund her, she may get the vacation and a refund. I've not done rentals with paypal yet, but I do sell alot with paypal and if a buyer disputes something, unless you have a tracking number of receipt, then they get their money back. You may lose in the end anyway.
Is it not possible to cancel your week and try for another time with another renter? I too would have stopped corresponding with her after the 3rd email. Some people are just not worth any profit, she's one of them.

B) It is too late for her to dispute it anyway.
You can open a disputeA buyer asks for a seller's help in resolving an issue with a transaction. in the Resolution CenterLocated in My Account, the PayPal resource for resolving issues between buyers and sellers. to contact a seller directly and resolveA buyer and seller come to an agreement and close the case, or PayPal comes to a decision and closes the case. a problematic transaction. You have 45 days from the payment date to open a dispute. Common reasons for opening a dispute include:
You paid for an item but haven't received it and the seller is uncooperative or nonresponsive.
You received an item that was significantly different than described.Lawren

She sounds like trouble waiting to happen.
It's Like she's looking for a fight.
Maybe Angry that she has cancer and taking it out on Spence.
Unfortunately I have found from experience with regular tenants that they don't have to be right to cause you lots of headache, money loss and legal expenses. Some people are just not worth taking a chance on IMO.

This is your third off handed comment in this thread
The old adage about "saying nothing and looking like a fool is better than opening your mouth and eliminating all doubt."
Seems to apply here.
In your vast 8 months of timeshare ownership, with no rentals at all, you are badgering someone that rents 100's of weeks per year.
The powers to be said your post was acceptable, otherwise I would have modified of deleted them as Insulting another member. But take this as a warning,
Greg

Defined for those that don't know the term...
