The last few posts aside, this just sounds like a nightmare I'd have if I tried to rent! I have 30+ years working with the public, and only have one or two stories that come nowhere near the level of bizarre that this one does! Thankfully they require a credit card for deposit!
My motto: The customer is always right; until they aren't. Your status as a customer does not give you carte-blanc to be nasty, demeaning and just plain rude.No one can be exactly like me. Even I have trouble doing it. - T. Bankhead

Have you called Morritt's?
If I were you, I'd be thinking about calling Morritt's to give them some idea of what is coming.
It would probably be wise if they would take before and after photos of her room!
You can take the compassionate approach (as you mostly have all along) and tell them 'she had a serious medical issue and appears to be struggling for composure and self-control' or you be more frank and say 'she claims to have a serious medical issue and she appears to be completely crazy pants'.
Either way, it seems like a good idea to prepare them because she's not suddenly going to be a normal and happy vacationer when she reaches the island.

Totally agree with Anita about the fact that you've taken the compassionate and reasonable approach thus far. Not that it helps much when crazy people is just crazy. But I'm sure it is of benefit with the rest of the world. (Why, yes, Chris, I am a Midwesterner. )
Part of me thinks the picture suggestion is brilliant, but part of me wonders if that'd just get the resort down on the person renting out the unit to someone they suspect to be "completely crazy pants." Depends on how cynical the resort staff is, I guess. If they're pretty good with owners as a rule, might be worth it.
