This has been quite informative. Seems like Rib Roast is the most popular. Thinking about this thread, I can't remember growing up what we ate on Christmas Day. Probably ham, but nothing sticks in my mind.

A roast, mashed potatoes, corn and broc. casserole. Simple easy, no fuss.

Christmas Eve, we usually have the traditional Italian 7 fish dishes, along with pasta.....Over the years, I've started making 3-4 of the fish dishes as appetizers. Baked clams, shrimp cocktail, clams on the half shell, escargot, etc.

Christmas Day, we have lots, of appetizers. This usually goes on for at least a couple of hours.

For dinner, we have a full traditional Italian meal. Pasta of some sort, this year is was Lasagna, with meatballs, sausage & Braciole. I also make a Filet Mignon, with various sides.

For dessert, I make a huge ice cream log. 7 layers of ice cream/cake with all sorts of goodies such as nuts, crushed skor's bars. etc. in each layer.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

This thread is very interesting. There are so many menu selections. In our house, Christmas Eve dinner is "catch-and-grab-it" as we are preparing for Open House in the evening. Lots of appetizers, from simmered meatballs, shrimp, parmesan dips, etc. to lots of homemade sweets.

On Christmas Day, it is traditional turkey, cranberry, ham, mashed potatoes, turnip, usually 2 other veggies, salad. I always make a couple of pumpkin pies, and another sweet tray.
