After 10 years of a void in the lower Manhattan skyline I can clearly see from long distances the new tower rising.

The twin towers were visible from Jones Beach on clear day. I can now see the new tower from the Bronx, on the parkway.

This has been a long and painful rebuild.

We drove into NYC over the 59th Street Bridge a few weeks ago and it is definitely part of the landscape.

10 years later, and looking at the new tower going up still gives me that surreal feeling.

I was at the site recently, at a visit to the Memorial. Spent many years working downtown, even a brief stint in #1 WTC, and to me the site is all still surreal.

You could see the Towers from exit 11 on the NJTurnpike, just for a few seconds, from the right angle. I'd been avoiding looking at what was the empty sky in that space, but I'll have to remember to look next time I pass that way as this one should be visible..
