Searching for rates

Buying a 2411sf house at $202,000.
Looking for best lender and insurance company.

So far I find 3.75% on 30 yr fixed VA, but closing costs run all over the place.

Insurance isn't quite as bad, but premium varies $98 and one will only insure the house if they also insure the autos.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also, any I should beware of?

We refiananced last December with Provident Funding through a mortgage broker at 3.25. Bank of America screwed up our paperwork and we timed out. In WA the BoA mortgage is the old Country Wide guys. Our loan was sold to Fannie May after 1 month but Provident is still servicing the loan.

Refi cheaper than first mortage?

Sorry, Im mistaken, not a refi. We consolidated our first mortgage and second mortgage into one new 15 year loan.

Last year we bought another rental house and used the second to purchase this rental. Now the rental is paid off. This worked for us because the rent is now positive cash flow and the new mortgage loan is a couple hundred less than what we were paying.

I could not believe all of the paperwork that is now involved in reguards to a new mortgage loan.

Relocating west of Rocky Mount, NC.

At 74 it's time to get a place to relax in. Got to get moved and do some fishing and traveling.

with a VA loan, holy crap, the paperwork!!!!

I would imagine that the past few years have added to that mountain with extra lender safeguards.

Be sure to limber up your signature hand day of closing ...

Ohh....i didn't realize that! I hope your not insured through the insurance company i work for! We sent out thousands of disclaimer letters after Irene for houses that were basicly just foundations...it seems, from my prospective, as a claims secretary, that we don't pay for anything

That was taken last Sept.

Funding is finally flowing.

Last week the ceiling was taken down to get at removing the roof.

Now, bathrooms are being completely gutted and warpped hardwood floors are getting ripped up.

Very nice. Do you have less winter here than where you lived before? How soon can you move in, Robert? We both wish you and Caroll the best. It is a big move from one state to the other.
