I ran down to the little corner deli in Manhattan to get a cup of coffee on Monday. There must have been twelve people in there, in the middle of the afternoon, buying lottery tickets!
I have been playing and last few years $1.00 advance eight draw ticket for Ca Lottery and same for Mega so I'm in every game but only playing $1.00 each time. When Mega gets this high I also play $5.00 ticket. The old saying you can't win if your not playing.
I also play Fantasy five one draw for 10 draws and have won more spending less money per game. Seems having same numbers for advance play works better for me.
I bought one ticket on Tuesday, because the odds are about the same if you buy one ticket or 100. Or even 1,000. Anyway, I didn't win...not even one number matched.
There was no big winner, but there were a few with five numbers matching plus the bonus number. The odds against that are astronomical, too, and you get only $250,000 for that. That would kill me!

I wouldn't say no to $250,000! After taxes around $150,000, nice little emergency fund/college fund for the future!
It's now Estimated at $290 million! About $160million after everything...So far, thats my plan for retirement...If i don't win a $100 million+ Jackpot...i may have to work forever
I went online and bought a 50 week subscription for $100, and doubled the bet for the multiplier. So for $200 I know I won't miss any drawings. We shall see...

Obviously I wouldn't say no to $250,000. But it would kill me to know that the odds against matching 6 of the 7 are so, so high, and I had only been one number away from $240 million.
