Total MSM fluff. The main source they quote is an aging former rock star with a personal ax to grind, not any government official. Only government can ''do away with cash''. What they are talking about is more people using electronic money.

If they really wanted to look at a means of payment that is on the real verge of disappearing they would look at checks in the UK. There has already been a decision there to eliminate checking accounts and in the not too distant future.
