My DD is only 29 but she had back surgery in 2006. She has been having increasing back pain over the last few years and recently had to take a leave of absence from her job because she was missing too much work. The diagnosis is Tarlov Cysts. The Dr. wanted to implant a TENS but her insurance (military) refused to approve the procedure. Dr. appealed but it was turned down again. She meets all of the qualifications but they turned her down because she is too young. Age is not a qualification. The other procedure is to inject the cysts with fibrin glue but not too many Dr's do it.
She can't sit or stand for long periods of time and is in a lot of pain. She has almost 2 & 5 yr olds. She tries not to take a lot of pain medication but it's not easy. On top of all this, they wll be moving cross country in June. The good part of it is that they will be within driving distance.
Has anyone had the TENS or glue procedures and what was the outcome?
