  • World's Sexiest Hotel Showers

    http://www.travelandleisure.com/arti...-hotel-showers

A bright, spacious room. A glittering wall tiled in custom Italian glass mosaics. A crystal chandelier hanging from a drop ceiling. Restaurant? Ballroom? Nope, it’s a bathroom at the $200 million Mondrian South Beach in Miami. And that chandelier isn’t just a lighting fixture: turn a couple knobs, and you’ll be immersed in one of the world’s sexiest hotel showers.

Where hotel showers were once a utilitarian afterthought (clingy curtain, anyone?), they may now be the pièce de résistance of the entire room. This new breed of bathroom fixtures features glass walls that change opacity at the push of a button, multiple showerheads, and even killer city views.
Hoteliers know that a sexy shower can be the deciding factor in sealing a reservation. In an interview with Travel + Leisure, hotelier André Balazs—whose latest property is the Standard New York—noted, “I don’t think you can possibly overstate [a bathroom’s] importance.” Indeed, Balazs may have started the haute shower trend in the ’90s with huge bathrooms (at the Standard in downtown L.A., they measure a whopping 270 square feet). Now it’s no longer a common practice for hoteliers to “borrow” space from the bedroom and create a tiny bathroom nook.

Showers, especially, impress by their sheer size. Of course, a great location doesn’t hurt, either.
At the Viceroy Anguilla, for example, roomy showers are outdoors (and if there’s anything more exhilarating than taking a shower under a blanket of stars, we can’t think of it) and have wooden shutters that open up to a gorgeous view of the sea. Too breathtaking? No problem; have a seat on the relaxing, custom-built benches.

Meanwhile, in large metropolises, hoteliers get even more creative when designing showers, perhaps to make up for limited space issues. At the boutique Cocker hotel in Buenos Aires, the shower is set in a glass cube, which is stacked directly above the bed. The Andaz in San Diego takes a different approach; at the touch of a button, the glass partition between shower and hotel room turns clear or opaque.

So forget testing the firmness of the bed or checking out the contents of the mini-bar. These days it’s all about the shower.

I would add the triple shower/steam room in the Unique Room on the 18th floor at the Hotel on Rivington. The other rooms have nice showers, too, though the "sexy" factor may not be considered "sexy" by all - there are no shades on the floor to ceiling windows in the exterior-facing showers. Not that there's anything wrong with that....
The Unique Room steam/triple shower is quite private, huge, and awesome. Again the "triple" factor may not be considered by sexy all, either, but nobody says you have to use all three. Not that there's anything wrong with that, either

There is one more Unique Room there, on the 19th floor, but I don't think it has a steam shower - and the shower in that room is, I believe, exterior facing...

The shower and bathroom in the executive suites at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort & SPA in Rancho Mirage CA is pretty awesome though probably doesn't qualify as the sexiest. We very frequently stay at the Agua Caliente resort and just got back last Saturday from 3 nights there. They comp us for the executive suite which is a large 1200 sq. ft. 1 BR suite.

The bathroom is larger than most bedrooms. It has a flat screen TV, separate vanities on each side, large jetted tub and a huge shower. The shower will easily accomodate 4 people. It has 5 shower heads that can be adjusted in any manner you choose. There are 2 shower heads on each end that can be turned on however you wish and adjusted to suit your height. There is a large shower head in the ceiling. There is also a place to sit down.

We always look forward to taking showers there. By the way the bedroom is huge with separate doors on each side. The window blinds have remote controls.

Seriously, folks, it's not the bathroom architecture that makes a shower sexy. None of the showers in the article come anywhere close to the top 100 sexiest showers I've seen.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

        “You shouldn't wear that body.”
