  • A New Grandbaby on the Way!

We ar so excited to hear our son and duaghter-in-law are expecting their first baby in late March! As many of you know, he lived in Korea for 3 years, teaching English. While there, he met and married a beautiful Korean girl, and we travelled there (our second trip) for their traditional Korean wedding. They came home last fall and lived with us for the year, while DS attended Teacher's College. They then returned to Korea for the summer to work.

No teaching jobs have opened up here in Canada yet, so it looks like they will be in Korea for awhile, and that is where the baby will be born. Looks like another trip for us so we can welcome our new addition. Can't wait!

Nancy, he was in Bundang, a suburb to the east of Seoul, for his three years. Right now he is home waiting visiting and applying for a spousal visa, so he can work any/as many jobs as he wishes. Dear DIL is working in Seoul and staying with her parents, about 40 minute ride to the north. When he returns to Korea at the end of the month, or in early October, they will go apartment-hunting.

Was asking because friends are military and stationed in Korea and boys go to a DOD school there. Wondered if he taught at DOD school.

No, he has always worked in a Hogwan. These schools are run after regular school hours, from around 2:00 until 10:00 p.m. Kids would take ESL classes after their regular school day. Your friends may be stationed in Itawan. Right now, he is applying for a spousal visa that would open up more opportunities.
