Thought a new thread was in order. Didn't have a problem before, but Kaspersky is reporting a Trojan OY this morning. I use Firefox.

This is a big problem that they are working on OY. It is affecting a lot of people, but some others that have similar setups are not having the issue. It appears to be related to JavaScript. So if that is disabled, you shouldn't have the issue. It also doesn't appear to affect Chrome users. I use Chrome so haven't had the problem, but as soon as I tried with IE, instant issues.Grande Vista owners group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GVnewsgroup/

There's now absolutely no question that the site had malware. Doug found the malware code lurking inside one of the .css style sheets.
IMHO, if you were visiting the site, not using the Chrome browser, and not getting error messages, you ought to be questioning the effectiveness of your virus and malware protection. To my mind, there is now no question that the site had been corrupted with the Phoenix Exploit. If you were using Internet Explorer or Firefox, your internet security protection program should have alerted you that you were visiting an infected site. If you didn't get an alert and you are not a savvy internet maven (such as John Cummings) who relies on your virus and malware protection software to catch things like this, you should absolutely make sure that you have not been infected and you should be pondering the effectiveness of your installed internet security program. Phoenix Exploit is a well-known and characterized Trojan. I can't think of a reason why any reasonable internet security shouldn't have detected it.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”

You need to get a liitle better informed regarding Apple's OS. I am not a fan of Apple at all but their OS is far superior and much more secure than MS. Only the uninformed say that their lack of attacks is due to their small marketshare. Their OS was designed properly from the ground up with their networking model based on the OSI model. I presented a paper at a computer conference on this subject.
Back to the issue. It could be that I didn't see it because I recently updated both my Firefox browser and Java last week.John
