Loved this CT review of 2009 Pierre-Henri Morel Côtes du Rhône Villages Signargues
Wife-Tron ordered me to host a house party full of babies and their parents, so I convinced her to let me go get a case of wine as a consolation prize. I had told her to read page 72 of the new Cosmo magazine, but she told me that I could do whatever page 72 of Cosmo said to myself and to be lucky that I was at least going to get a good buzz out of the wine to numb the psychological pain that doing this would cause.
Popped this open about an hour before guests arrived to be served with pulled pork. This was a nice CDR. Lighter in mouthfeel, blue and black fruits, lamb fat, pepper, some stemminess there, but a welcome zip of green pepper is nice in this wine. Very light smoke. The hint of an old campfire from one campsite over. Not hot, good acidity, medium length finish.
I thought this was a pretty good value, but given what page 72 has in store for me, I should have gone for a high alcohol zin or maybe just grain alcohol.
