  • worst night possible at a resort

we got in past 4am.. got our luggage up to the 5th floor. took the key from the lock box but the lock was broken. it took me over an hour to get the door open. then this morning we find the coffee maker missing , the vcr missing along with a chair and to top it off the verticals are stuck. what realy got us even more upset is my confirmation says king bed and it is smaller than a queen. thank you ocean time for making my ocean city trip one that my family will not forget.

Something tells me someone in your party is saying "I told you so".
Nothing like a bad start to a stay and I hate to get in late-just in case.

Awww Frank....that's too bad, especially about the bed. I hope your wife isn't giving you too hard a time.

The good news is that you are escaping a heat wave. It is going to be hot, hot, hot, this week. High nineties for a few days, with a feel like temperature of 100.

So, make the best of things, and enjoy the beach...Perhaps they can switch rooms so that you get your king bed as promised.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

On the positive side, things can't get much worse Maybe they will get you a different condo and by the end of the week, you and your family will forget the first night.

          Frank,
Sounds like a tough one. I know if I started out taking an hour to open a door on a late nite arrival I'm sure I would not be a happy camper.
Hope things get better and the the beach is nice.

I called the resort 2 days ago and was told that the room had a king bed. The person I spoke to is here and admitted telling me this. She is a young girl who has not been here long. They sent a lock smith to fix the lock and took care of the missing items. They cannot fix the verticals or do anything about the bed or about the boarded up fireplace. They called rci and at the moment they are trying help with another resort but at this point I doubt we are moving. Part of the resorts troube is that there whole maintaince department quit a week ago. plus the senior mgr is in SC. They only have a young 20 year old girl running every thing. As far as the bed goes my Sil is bringing up an aero bed.

              Worst night

A few years ago we arrived late at night, went to our cabin, and noticed it smelled awful. We were so tired, we decided to ignore the smell, but we reported it the next day. Turned out the problem was a gas leak!

                EAM,

It's a good thing you didn't smoke in bed that night! Yikes.

Frank I'm sorry things aren't working out at Ocean Time. I THOUGHT you said trip from hell on our very broken up cell connection...I will try you again tomorrow.

Our vacation also did not begin auspiciously. Check-in time at 4PM. Actual check-in time 10:15PM. I have never seen so many owners and echangers so unhappy. They are very, very understaffed here.

Unlike you we were upgraded to a penthouse unit. I think they were just throwing units at people as they became available after a certain point.

I hope Ocean Time / RCI can make things better for you somehow. Fingers crossed. Please tell me we won't be having issues at Sea Time next month. I don't think DH could take another Celibrity experience.

I'll try to get some pictures up.

Hey Frank, this is one way to make "memories" At least you won't forget it!! It really does stink, but look at it this way, you are experiencing a real life"shaggy" Can't wait to hear the rest. Hugs, Shaggy

Tough break, I agree. I read your report and my mind went to days when a narrow bed worked to an advantage.

The young girl here has been great with what she has to work with. She was able to get a maintaince man from a sister resort to help out with repairs here. As much as I went through last night. She is going through it with half of the resort ass she is the only person here to help.

                            Frank,

Where are you? I may be looking for a getaway, want to be certain to avoid it... still I hope you can enjoy the beach and laugh about this later.

Avery I am at Ocean time in Ocean city MD. The resort is in OC and a half block to the beach. My room is up to date and overall is not in bad shape. We just encountered troube getting into the room at fourr in the morning. BTW This morning while eating breakfast the dining room light over the table burned out.
