Just saw that it was underway.

If some whites come through that intrigue me I might succumb. Otherwise I think I'm in good shape.

I actually bought that sake a long time ago and then found out it couldn't be shipped to NJ. It still can't be, alas.

Odd, MN shows up as a no ship state. I have had Woot wine shipped to me in the past.

"Thanks to stick-in-the-mud buzzkilling state legislators, wine may only be delivered to the following states:

California, Colorado, Connecticut, District Of Columbia, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Washington, Wyoming

If your state's not on the list, you're out of luck... for now. Keep up with the ever-changing laws over at ShipCompliantBlog.com, and/or sound the alarms with your state assembly person through FreeTheGrapes.org. Meanwhile, all Federal, state and local laws are complied with in providing this wine."

There's a long thread about this at wine.woot. In a nutshell, New York state liquor authorities took some action against one of the internet wine sellers, which caused wine.woot (or Amazon) to stand down from shipments to many states that had similar regulatory schemes. Minnesota was one of those states.

With wine.woot the situation is more complex, because they don't actually own the wine. They are only a marketing and fulfillment agency, and that seems to be significant. So while a winery might be licensed to sell and ship into a state, someone doing so on their behalf would be barred. If you think you can there could be some hidden motives by in-state liquor distribution in such a situation, you might not be too far from the truth.
