  • My theory on the Superbowl halftime show

I think the on going promotion for Bruno Mars was such a tremendous flop with the generations that have money, the people from Pepsico grabbed the Red Hot Chili Peppers (who just happened to be playing at Barclay Center the night before) to help out.

I can't imagine this train wreck was planned.

It is my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Bruno Mars will have some company during the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show. The "Gorilla" singer will joined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2. The announcement came on January 11 during Fox's broadcast of the NFC Divisional Playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks, who scored a 23 to 15 victory.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be the first capital-R Rock band to play a Super Bowl Halftime show in four years, since the Who performed a greatest hits medley at Florida's Sun Life Stadium in 2010. Booking RHCP is more than likely a way to appease critics who felt that, with just two studio albums under his belt, Mars is too lightweight — or dare we say, Unorthodox — of an artist to follow relatively recent Halftime guests such as Madonna, Prince, U2, Paul McCartney, and BeyoncĂ©. Well, now there's a group of bona fide Rock and Roll Hall of Famers on the bill, so relax.

Before they take the actual Super Bowl stage, the Chili Peppers will play a pre-game concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Saturday, February 1. The Los Angeles funk-rock legends lead a lineup that also features MS MR, J. Roddy Walston & the Business, and others. For details on that gig, and several other Super Bowl-related concerts happening in the tri-state area, click here. Fans of both as well.....love Bruno Mars....if you can, find his Saturday Night Live gig where he was both musical guest and host. Hysterical! He is one talented guy.

Yeah, that skit where he was the intern at Pandora and did all the imitations of different singers! That was amazing!
