  • Tonight's Episode of "What Did I Miss"

DW and I are finishing dinner. #4 Son is away, but is expected back shortly and will eat dinner when he arrives.

We start to take care of dishes; DW starts washing and begin clearing the table. I ask DW if I should leave the serving dishes on the table for #4 Son. She says, "No, put them on the counter." So I clear them off of the table, and leave them on the counter, next to the refrigerator so that DS can serve himself when he comes home.

About five minutes later she asks me why I haven't transferred the leftovers to storage containers and put them in the refrigerator. To which I reply, "I thought you said to leave them on the counter."

She says, "That's not what i meant."
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I can write a book on what goes on here. But the wife is always right.

Be nice if she apologized for her misdirection, but at least she admits that's what she said. Hubby's always doing the, "I never said that!" routine. Even if everyone else in the room insists that's exactly what he said.

I regularly send the boys out to "vacuum the lawn," so I never argue if people tell me, "That's not what you said." But I still expect to see the lawn mowed, even if I told them to vacuum it.

When I had a lawn I used to vacuum it. I really did when the leaves fall rather than have the blower I had to vacuum it cause my wife said I had to .
