This is unfortunate. Craigslist performs a valuable service putting people together for mutual benefit. As with everything, a user will have to use great care when meeting strangers. My son used Craigslist last month. He needed his car window unstuck, and posted an ad under "gigs". He got 6 replies, and chose the person closest to our house. The man did the job for $15, which was the right price for a poor high school student. I did make him take a friend (big guy) with him to go there, though. And he had no money other than the $15, but it worked out well for him.

I'm glad to see he got it fixed, I remember you asking how to get it fixed. Like the idea of bringing a big friend but the bringing only $15 was something I'd never have thought of.

And to think we used to leave the keys in the car with it unlocked and didn't lock our homes at night. Picked up hitchhikers and the list goes on and on. This world just isn't what it used to be.

Cell phone numbers on Craigs list?

I just listed a timeshare for rent in NC on Craigs list with my cell phone number in the add. Is that unsafe and should I take it out of the add?

Usually sellers tell potential buyers to e-mail them first at the anonymous address featured in the ad. Then you can screen the e-mails to see who looks normal and you can delete the weird ones. Then e-mail your cell phone number just to the ones who sound okay and interested.

So yes, I would delete my cell number.
