Hey everyone. Instead of talking about the ice bucket challenge(oops that was last year or something), pokemon, politics, current events, and all of the other noise.... Go donate a pint of blood. Over my lifetime I have literally donated Gallons. Too numerous to count.

Great reminder. I donate on and off depending if I happen to be anemic the day of the drive. Sometimes I'm good, sometimes they tell me to try again next time.
In December, my brother had a medical emergency and needed 2 units of blood immediately. Since there is no substitution for human blood, it was only through the generosity of others like you that my brother was saved.

I have not donated in years, last time I thought the needle looked the size of a garden hose and haven't gone back. Did it at work and think they wanted people back to work so used the garden hose needle.......

My Mom was one of the most frequent donors in Santa Clara County years ago and so I started donating blood whenever I could. They always told me how great and easy my veins were. I stopped after having an argument twice after they had me squeezing so much (blood flowing) I almost passed out. They weren't willing to listen when I tried explaining what the others told me when they had no problem getting my blood. When it happened twice I decided enough. Not willing to pass out when I was willing to help.
