Lake Express High Speed Ferry - [MILWAUKEE, WI- MUSKEGON, MI]

We are visiting my wife's sister in Prior Lake, MN and then going to Clarkston, MI to visit our daughter. We are taking a load of furniture in our MiniVan and looking to take the Lake Express High Speed Ferry: MILWAUKEE, WI- MUSKEGON, MI. Has anyone taken this Ferry and how is it? Also, would appreciated recommendations on motels close to the Dock in Milwaukee that would be ok to leave our Loaded Van overnight. This would be in September.

no I haven't taken it, but my daughter lived near Prior Lake and brought her children to Prior Lake for babysitting and pre school.

We have taken this ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee and back. It was great and QUICK! Trips both ways had a calm Lake Michigan Many friends have taken this trip, too. You will enjoy it!
