Anyway, choose wisely what you get riled up about. Some things just are not worth it.

A couple of weeks ago, I returned home and my husband said he was dizzy and had a pain right below rib cage on right side. His dr closed early that day so took him to walk in clinic. Within ten minutes he was in ambulance on way to hospital. They would not let me back to see him for quite along time. Blood work, cat scan, ok , but said they wanted to do a stress test in morning.n unfortunately the 350 bed hospital had over four hundred patients. He remained in the hall outside the ER desk on a narrow cot all night, with no water, no iv, no food , and no sleep. Around two the next afternoon, we discovered no stress test had been ordered and it might be three more days. We demanded his release, and agreed to do all tests outpatient which we have been doing all week. Our bill was 19000. The cat scan showed a nodule in his thyroid, subsequent ultra sound and aspiration showed malignancy. So we inadvertently found cancer, when they suspected heart problems. I had thyroid cancer, so I know what is ahead, and have contacted a surgeon. To start the process.

I think they will do some sort of rehab or allow me to do my own but I'm not sure. At 58, I hope to do rehab and recover.
Most likely you will recover at your age but you need to do your exercises too at home!!! Do what they say and you will be better off.

              Wishing you the best.

Speaking of health, and taking care of yourself, DW and I have been very fortunate. We have had good health, we seldom have needed a doctor, we have never spent a day in the hospital, we never miss work . . . . but . . . .

Now that we are both of the age that we have affordable health care, we're rethinking things. We would like to devote more time to keeping things the way they've been. We got DW a supplement for her Medicare, and she used it the first month. My supplement started two days ago, and I plan on taking care of a few things on a regular basis.

After all, my only hope is too outlive those who are not on my side.

The rehab people have said not to use my home gym equipment yet. They want me to stick with their monitored rehab program and let the cardiologist say it is ok to do more, so that is my plan. I think today is when we will be going over my "met" and ekg's to evaluate my progress at rehab.

As a type A person I really am tempted to push the boundaries a bit but I am going to do what they say and take it slow.

                  Thanks Emmy

Or does he have that far away and vacant look, like Tony?
