    Anyone have DISH?

If you do, go to your DISH account online and assemble what you want with their new skinny bundles.

Our monthly fee went from $102 (before loyalty discount) to $68. Guaranteed for 24 months. and 2 free movie channels for 3 months.

Looks like they are actively trying to lower revenue. (or keep customers)

I found out about it when I asked our DISH guy to renew our loyalty discount and all he could do is $5/month.

So, now we have nothing but crap to watch for less money.

    DW does Netflix any way.

had Dish and was paying $107/month. Plus we had Nexflix for $10. But I was watching it less and less, so I dropped Dish and went to streaming. I now have the same Netflix plus CBS All Access commercial free for $8.87/month. Also streaming news from local TV stations, CBS News, Bloomberg, all free. So I now am saving about $98/month while watching TV about the same amount I used to.

      Does anybody use Sling TV?

I am taking a hard look at FiOS.

Paying $16/month to rent the receiver/DVR just pisses me off. They broke up the phone company for far less abuse on expensive equipment rentals and here they are doing it again (still).

I pay quite a bit in my opinion for one set when I barely watch it. I always begin thinking about it when the end of football season looms. I rarely watch otherwise. I have HBO and Showtime and there is hardly ever anything worth watching. I do like John Oliver though. Hard to justify a king's ransom on a once weekly show that I actually watch on demand because I'm asleep when it airs.

Almost all my clients are off the paper fax so I think I can kill the landline too. I'd have to keep the internet with them.

It's a fall thing as I have to live out the rest of this contract but I'd like to hear about the alternatives.

I had sling tv for a while, but it didn't add much to what I wanted to watch.

It has to be better than paying Verizon $190 for phone/internet and TV when the internet part is only $65 for 75/75 speed.

Sling seemed to carry most network tv and the few basic "cable" things that at one time or another you just need to have for $40 and if I just have to have HBO + $15. What's the hidden stuff if any?

What are the other options out there for a smart TV with Amazon prime?

We dropped Direct TV a few years ago and went with a ota Tivo. I can record 60 hours of programing of major network which for us is about 11 chanels. The tvio also has my streaming services like you tube, Netflix and Pandora. The TiVo subscription is about $15 a month.

I think I might look at satellite service again. I wasn't home enough to use it was my main gripe.
