TS4MS Arcade is active!

I had been working with this code back before the upgrade but when it became clear we were going to need to upgrade I never bothered installing this.

At this point I have made the arcade available for all posting members, Industry Reps, (members with 15-or more posts), site contributors, and staff. Depending on the server load these games generate I may need to limit these to Site Contributors but we will see how this goes...

To play a game costs 50-TS4MS points. There are a few games installed already and I can add more but I need to get a feeling for what effects these have on the website performance.

Yes, I see the games but don't know how to play them.

Mike, I never go to bed until it is almost daylight anyway so won't get involved.

OK, I palyed pac man a little and it look like there is some issues with that game... when I got high scores I woukd get an error message (along with a file not found page) and at one point I got a template that has a problem (Noticable because the page layout was all wrong)

The game worked otherwise however...

Ok, I played Simon. It rocks, by the way. But it charged me again each time I lost and wanted to keep playing. Even after I beat the current high score, it sent me back to the purchase screen.

Oh, and it said the cost was 46 points. That is an odd amount.

I checked the permissions and I "think" the permissions are set right but this points software is extremely complicated...

So, can I request people that CAN access post here as well as those that can not? this way I will get an idea of who is not getting access to find the problems...

Again, members with 15-or less posts will not be able to get into the arcade unless they are a Site Contributor

Still not play til you quit. Each time the game is over and I try to play again, I have to pay 46 points.

Yea, I discovered that too.... Should we drop the points value or leave it alone? I think it is clear we need a way for members that post a lot to spend their points so I am inclined to leave them alone...

Also, I see that someone has played each of the games now so it looks like they work...

The only bug I have found is that sometimes when you get a high score the webpage layout gets messed up... If anybody sees this, I need to knwo when you see it so I can try to fix it...

The following games seem to have problems with messing up the forums layout:

Pac-Man
Moon Lander
Snake

The other games I have not seen problems with so far...

Now, FWIW, there are hundreds of games out there that I could build in but I doubt I will ever upload a whole lot of these... but these will change and if these ones that are causing problems can not be resolved they will get removed...

You need to try to see.... I have dozens of other games I will rotate in the system and the ones that are causing problems will likely be removed...
