WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT????

I'm still sticking my little toe into the water, testing it, on this topic, but it seems we are behaving like the adults that we are, so I will add a little more.

Perception can be from a few big things, or from an accumulation of little, nitpicky things.

Today, for instance, I added a post to my SW Florida thread, something I have tried to maintain OY for several years. It represents the fruits of my many years of daily searching and documenting availaibility through RCI.

In recent years, as complaints have increased about lack of availability through RCI, my research has taken on significance on the Exchanging forum also.

So, today I also added a link to my SW Florida post on the Exchanging Forum OY. I did so because my SW Florida thread plays to a much smaller audience than RCI threads on the exchanging board. I did not double post, just linked to the SW Florida post. At least that's the way I remember it. It got deleted.

I was told to make a choice, one forum or the other, but the choice was made for me before I could make a choice.

I could list a jillion similar things over the years, like the Sightings rule.

So I have spent the afternoon answering emails about what got deleted.

The same thing here did not get deleted.

As others are trying to say. One seems to be bound by rules, even when the rules are a disservice, whereas the other is not, the overriding desire being to be of more service to the users.

What I like about here is the potential. But this place has to be allowed some freedom in order to reach it's potential, and there are some things standing in the way of that.

As I said recently, I believe these discussions can be a vehicle to temper things OY, actually making it a better place. Here, too.

Never been a continuing issue for me. As far as I'm concerned, when an issue is over it's over.

I'm sure I contributed to things as well, and I offer my apoloiges as well.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

I found out about TS4MS on TUG. I read both every day. I post on both or one or the other, depending on my needs or my mood. I definitely feel that TS4MS is more of a small community. But I've found people to be helpful on both sites.

I personally think it's because the moderators on this forum are just too cool!
I read the new posts on both sites, and in the past few weeks I've noticed that there are just as many or more here. I'm proud of our "baby".
I post on TUG when I have a question I need answered (such as how do I get my car window unstuck) because I think there is a wider base of people to draw from that may know the answer to an unusual question. I also post answers to questions from others, if I feel I can contribute.
I am one that avoids controversy at all costs, but I enjoy the banter between the members here. And I love the goumbettes!

Do you have a volunteer in mind, and a blindfold and a final cigarette (cigar)?

As a former moderator (less than a year) on TUG I agree that this site is much more liberal. The mods on TUG have a huge job because of the quantity of posts each day. IMHO, they do a decent job but are a little too strict. The 'behavior' rules need to be loosened I think. This BBS may become that way too in a few years if it continues to grow. Growth is good but it does create more potential problems & issues.

All in all I enjoy both sites.

                            Don't forget the mugs!

And I am so impressed with all the time Ken spends on updating this board. Unfortunately, when he posts about the changes, (the computer talk) it's like I'm reading Greek, but I can still appreciate it

I agree with this statement. I also agree with the other statement about things tending to "blow up" over innocent questions sometimes on TUG.

I agree with Phil, TUG has to many dont do this, and dont do that. This site is much more friendly.
