It's 5:50 here, so the little kids are out in force before their dinner. Later tonight, we will get the older kids.

I live in a neighborhood that is very hard to gage the number of kids to expect. Some years, we hardly have any kids at all. Other years, we have lots. This seems to be one of the busy years.

In fact, I am going to run out right now, and try and pick up more candy. I'm afraid DH will give up after the first store.

I am worried about running out, so I have turned off the lights downstairs. Is there an equivalent of Scrooge for Halloween? My kids are out (fortunately the 12 year old is with a parent), I am a wreck. I hate Halloween.

            How can you hate halloween?

Unfortunately we live on a busier street and don't get many kids here. Maybe a bags worth.

My DS is out with friends ( and a parent ).

            More peanutbutter cups for DH.

I do not need or want left over candy in the house. Okay, okay, maybe I want it, but I certainly don't need it. Usually Steve takes the left overs to work with him, but since he left today for Barcelona, that's a no go. I guess dd will have to take them with her to school. As she reminded me, she's a college student and like Mikey, they'll eat anything.

I had to go to the grocery store to buy a bunch of candy today since I wasn't ready. I have been eating Rollos like they are going out of style.

Well, I'm back with more candy. Now I probably have too much, but that's better then running out. I picked up Almond Joy, Milky Way, and Junior Mints.

If there is left over, I will force myself to send it to the office with my DH.

Funny thing is, it seems to have quieted down substancially......

                    Angela,

Going back to your original post, I have to ask...how many is "a pile"?

Since I have met you and know how skinny you are, I'm betting that the "pile" you had for breakfast and lunch was probably like five mini-bars at the most!!

                      Sharon,

You would be shocked. I am shocked.

I don't know what is going on, but out of no where, I am becoming addicted to chocolate. I can't stop eating it. That first day, I ate the equivalent of at least one bag. And, I haven't stopped since......... Tomorrow, I am giving it up. Cold Turkey!

Funny, I've had chocolate cravings for a few months now. Finally had one bar at 7 PM or so and 2 more since then. Only had two kids so far and I have pounds of candy left.

I used to love our 'little kids' Halloween. Teenager Halloween, I really hate. Fortunately both my kids are home safe (and have showered off all the shaving cream), so now I can relax. My DS12 even brought me some candy that I like, but not too much.

So THEN I figured since I was going to eat it no matter what I bought, I may as well buy what I like But I am waiting til at least next week.
Don't you hate when you have all this candy in your house and nobody is coming to trick and treat? We have been sitting waiting here since 6 PM and only two bunch of kids have come by. I hate all this candy. I will take it to Mexico next month. We are not kind giving it to the children. I read someone's post about fancy pens and will do that next year. I keep telling my DH to stay away from the candy. I am not a sweet tooth like he is.

Lawren, I love your story about the Celtic tribe because my DH is one of them and I have to agree with the bottles of Merlot. We are sitting here sipping one waiting for the little trick and treaters to ring our doorbell but nothing is happening. Ah, there is one now but my DH is opening the door already. These little kids are so cute with their costumes and this one came with his Dad. I had to see him too.
