Today we decided to burn some CDs-now I'm looking for some CDs that seem to be missing. As Rosannadanna used to say- It's always something.

Ahhhhh, it is so vindicating, knowing I am in such elite company. I was beginning to suspect "Old Timers", but my youngest daughter, who is 48 yrs. old, has had the symptoms for years.
I can identify with that essay, "Old Folks are Worth a Fortune", when it says, "I spend a lot of time thinking of the hereafter. I walk into a room, and wonder, "What am I here after?" We SHALL prevail! Jean

Did you check your fireplace?

No fireplace and the wood stove has pretty much been inaccessible since spring. Maybe the outdoor burn barrel ?

A little progress today.
The Corps said the swimdeck was applied for in October, '99, approved in April, '00 and installed in June, '00. It was inspected in March, '02!
Surpisingly they said they do not keep the approval forms that everyone in the dock had to sign to give their permission, so I can't determine who all agreed to it. It is one of those unanimous approval deals. So after all we've been through, they don't even keep the evidence showing everyone agrees.
I called the dock company, to see how much we paid total, and they said they will check their files and call me tomorrow. More likely they will call HOF and see if he wants them to give me that information.
But I still have to find a way to determine how much our share was.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Jim,
Isn't this a lot of wasted energy for something that you can't change? I know you think he cheated you, and he probably did...but what good will come of finding out?

For the benefit of the new folks who have been lied to, who don't know better than to know they have been lied to, to show them that the same thing has been done to them that was done to us back then, so that if they wish to do something about it now they can, before they are in the same fix we are in.
Since everyone has gotten what they want regarding docks, calmer minds may now prevail. Those who were not willing to listen before may now, now that we or they have nothing to gain.
I would not persist I trying to get them to see the truth. Just state the facts and let it go at that.
I am familiar with the serenity prayer, so did not click the link. I do not feel that the situation in our neighborhood is something that cannot be changed, so I am not seeking the wisdom to recognize things I cannot change. A lot has already changed. I already know that more is changing in the near future.
What I believe is that everyone has their own time in which it takes for them to see the truth, as we did when we did not believe the things the existing neighbors told us when we first bought. It is not that we did not believe that what they told us happened to them, it is that we believed that it could never happen to us.
By stating the facts I hope to edge them in the direction of seeing the truth.
Then, when they come to me down the road and ask for the sheriff's email address, I can say I tried to tell you!
But it's not something I will beat myself up over. My frustration is in not being able to find something I should be able to find rather than not being able to prove my neighbor's a liar.

FWIW, I did not find our receipt and the dock company supposedly did not find the record of when they added the swimdeck.
One more lie that will stay a lie.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick
