I'd like to create a new reality show focused on surviving in the US. It would be modelled somewhat after a combination of Survivor and The Apprentice. The idea would be to get 12 candidates with a chance to win $1M and become the sole Urban Survivor.
Each candidate would be dropped into a US city with nothing, but the clothes on their back. They cannot contact anyone they know and they each will be given a shelter in a park made out of cardboard to start the game. Their goal is to accumulate the most wealth possible in 3 months time.
After each week, the amount of money they have in a tin can will be multiplied by 52 as if it were a full year's worth of work. And, they have an option to buy luxury items with their loot equivalent to 1 year's worth of funds for that week including shelter, luxury items, and other assets with an expected life of 1 year or more.
The person with the most wealth at the end of the 3 months is the Sole Urban Survivor.
People don't get voted off each week. They can vote themselves off if they like.
I want this show because it will show to the world how creative people will get to survive when there ins't a social safety net. We will be astounded at what people come up with. And, maybe a few viewers will learn how to achieve the American Dream.
