  • Telephone Calls ....?

Gosh, last Friday Laura Bush called and then on Saturday, the Iowa Governor's wife Christine called - talked with my spouse for a while - kind of a one sided conversation it seemed like to me - I wonder if they will call next week????

Gov Ehlich of Maryland has been calling my house regularly. Tonight's call was "Dear Lynda," now how do that do that wife's not on the phone account?

I had a call or two, but none lately. It's awful hard to get through on my phone as I have dial-up. Ask Frank.

            Same here.
I've had a few state Rep( recordings) who are running call me. What I hate is that the call won't disconnect. I hung up, picked it up and still rambling.

I haven't had one phone call. They must know me, and are avoiding calling, at all cost.........

We have been hit hard this year. So hard I am thinking about hooking up the fax to the phone but knowing my luck they would then fax me their junk!

I am on a do-not-call list. How do I block those darned Democrats from waisting my time

From my understanding, The politians are not included in the do not call list. They are allowed to override the system and break our chops legaly. This is BS that they can get away with this. To bad we can not harress them in the same way.

Oh, but you can. I have done so, very effectively in the past. Just keep calling and writing them. Each time that you do, request an answer to your inquiry in writing. They pretty much have to respond. I have done this with Rumsfeld, and President Bush, along with a number of politicians. I realize that it is the staff that you are actually dealing with, but still, they are the ones who are harassing you at this point, anyway...........

Thank goodness for Caller ID...when I saw 'unknown name, unknown number' I didn't bother picking up. We seemed to get a lot of calls this election...but none last night!

Yep, looks like you'll be getting calls from Tom and Christine now.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Democratic Gov. Tom Vilsack of Iowa took the initial step in his long-shot bid for the White House Thursday, establishing a presidential campaign committee and seeking an early jump on 2008.

"Americans sent a clear message on Tuesday. They want leaders who will take this country in a new direction," Vilsack, Iowa's two-term governor, said in a statement. "They want leaders who share their values, understand their needs, and respect their intelligence. That's what I've done as governor of Iowa, and that's what I intend to do as president."

                          Telephone Calls

Yes - Beaglemom 3 - the possibility exist for repeat calls from Christine - the announcement sure made all the local media today....a few members of the national press corps might find Iowa winters a little disagreeable

                              During my election...

...this past November the local Republican party wanted me to use one of those automatic dialers. I refused. I think they do more harm than good.

I also refused to use one in 2004 on my first run for State Representative.

The Republican candidate for County Executive did use one, and lost by a pretty good majority.
