My Son Got out at 5am to get the Nintendo Wii

This is the first time he has ever gone out on his own to buy a Game System. He saved up for it since he knew it was coming out now. Got a few friends together and they had planed on walking 2 miles to wait online but one of the other mothers dropped them off. He called us at 5:15am to tell us the line was tremendous and that he did not think he was going to get one. Well at 8:45 ,15 min before the store opened they gave him a Guarantee card saying he was getting it. He just got in now and you had to see the happy look on his face. He checked eBay to see what they were selling for and the same system just now sold for $1000. Here is the Link for that.

my kids have the Nintendo GameCube...let us know how well he likes the Wii and if it is backwards compatable. I will get one (perhaps after the new year) when the prices stabalize.

Good for him. My 14 year old wants one, but doesn't want to stand in line so tough luck...I heard by Christmas there should be more systems available. hope this is true...

Last night I went to Target about 8pm and there were a lot of people camping out with lawn chairs and sleeping bags. I assumed it was to wait for this game. I think it's crazy, but to each his own....

I just found out that they first went on the target line by the Queens center mall. They were told that there was only 100 units and they so far in line that they would not be getting it there. They ran over to Best Buy were they just made it as only 10 people behind him got it. He has not left his room since he came home. I hope he plans on eating today.

Frank, is he going to sell it rather than keep it and buy it later again? If he is, he is starting early in life to be a true entrepreneur. Buy low and sell high.

However, this is not a cheap toy and many kids or families can't even buy it at the regular store prices and certainly not for these outrages prices on eBay. These buyers are as stupid as we were when we bought timeshares from a developer.

Yes we had the pleasure of his company for dinner. But he has not left his room for any thing else other than than going for a drink and going to the bathroom.

Yes it is. I also believe that the Wii can also play DVDs which the Nintendo units never did before.

Wow what a differance a day makes. I just took a peak on ebay to see what they are selling for now. Yesterday $1000, Today under $400.

I am not sure it this is legit or not but if it is it must be nice to have money. Hide sight...Hide sight...Hinde sight...If only your son could have cashed in on those auctions!!!

Although nobody will believe me....this is a true story that just happened about 1 hour ago.

I took my son out for dinner at Wilt Chamberlins in Boca Raton, FL. After dinner we walked into EB Games to see the Wii and PS3. I jokingly asked if they had any left for sale and they said, yes, we have one PS3 20GB left as the person who reserved it only wanted the 60GB version.

Thus, I bought it on the spot.

I have not opened it or even told my wife yet. My plan is to sell it on eBay for about $1,000.

Is anyone here interested in buying it?
