  • I love to Roomba!

    and not the dance either!

After everyone left yesterday I commanded my little Woot robot to go clean the living/dinig/kitchen. All the little what nots dragged in from outdoors or dropped in the kitchen were scopped up in the vacuum bin.

It will not replace a commercial vacuum but for interim cleaning it does a great job <Plus there is the CUTE factor>.

I will tell you that it does a great job on cat hair. My cat is rarely on that level of the house but you would think he spent his entire life there with the amount of hair this thing suctions up.

Dear Old Dad was admiring Roomba as well. I think he may get one as a gift if Woot runs another between now and in time for delivery for Christmas to the left coast.

I bought one of these little robots at the last Woot Off. I got it on Tuesday. Charged that baby up and let her go. It was going all over our house. It moves around kinda of random but it pick up a lot of dirt and dog and cat hairs. Like Lawren said, it's good for an interim clean up.

lawren....If you have a pet, it sounds like the Roomba is worth it, just to pick up their hair. Who needs to be dragging out the vacuum, when you can set the Roomba loose. Plus, it sounds like a really fun item.

We use ours every day and for us it does replace our regular vacuum. We use it daily and not just for interim cleaning which means our house is always clean so no need to drag out the old vacuum for "big" cleaning.

We have one of the world's hairiest dog plus a cat and it picks up all the hair.

Last night after the Thanksgiving guests left we turned on the dishwasher, started the Scooba on the kitchen floor, and set the Roomba for the living room/dining room. Woke up to a clean everything!

I ran mine Tuesday, cleaning person came Wednesday and I was pretty surprised at what the robot got up last night...so maybe if I turn it loose on each level twice a week it could replace the human vacuum...

I can't use a Scooba as my kitchen is a "floating" tile floor and not recommended but Roomba has no problems sweeping up.

How long have you had your Roomba? DH gives it about a year before it goes "bristles up".

We just bought the Roomba and Scooba on Woot a couple of weeks ago. They are perfect for our house which is hardwood flooring in the living, dining, office areas plus tile in the kitchen and baths. Only two small areas of carpet (which will hopefully be replaced with wood soon).

I was constantly running my vac to pick up the dog hair so I'm very happy that Roomba does that for me now.

Plus I was always on my hands and knees cleaning up dog slobber on the wood floor near the kitchen so now we run Scooba a couple of times each week to do that. We are using a vinegar/water solution for the wood floors and they really shine.

My DH loves both the new robots even better than me. He sets them up each day (and usually cleans them after their done with their work ). I don't think he'll ever want to go back to regular vacuuming.

Oh, I'm kicking myself for not buying it on Woot. I let my family talk me out of it...oh well, if I ever see it for a great price like that again I'll snap it up. Happy Roomba-ing to all of you!

I didn't really follow the Woot-Off....... I have to try and pay attention to the next one. How much was the Roomba?

I picked one up for $149. If you are interested, my wife says she doesn't want it. I'll give you a good deal. Just PM me.

We paid $149 for the Roomba and $199 for the Scooba, both on Woot about a week before the Woot Off.

Just got home from a meeting, Roomba was done and back on the charger, FULL of hair and dust (and this is using it every day). I shudder to think out dirty our house was before when we only vacuumed once or twice a week. I think it's even less dusty (yes, I dust every day too...when will they invent a Dusta?).

Ahh, so you finally put it to work Lawren. Glad it's working out and you like it so much. Isn't modern technology wonderful?

Those of you who have one, may you have many years of Roombaing.

Sounds like we could do with one too. My son would love it as it's his job to vacuum.

So what is the verdict on Scooba? Do you like it?

I have Roomba but he may need a new battery. He doesn't seem to be running very long. I have to read up about it.

They now have Roomba for pet hair. It just has a different brush than the regular ones.

                          Scooba anyone?

Hi - I have a Roomba and love it too.

Does anyone have a review of the Scooba for washing hard floors?

                          TIA,
                          Judy from WI

We got our Scooba a few weeks ago. Have used it on both tile floors and the hardwoods (sealed wood with a semi-gloss finish) and it works great on both. It doesn't do as large an area at one time as the Roomba since it has to wash and dry the floor. We learned that the hard way by trying to have it do the entire kitchen and breakfast room at one time. Scooby ran out of battery power before it finished drying the floor and I had to dry it with a towel.

Now that we've learned how to best use it we only set it for one large area at a time. It washes and squeegee dries. The hardwoods are shiny clean.

I don't like using any cleaner products on the wood, I learned when we bought our house that a vinegar/water solution is best for this type of wood. So we only use the Clorox brand cleaner that came with Scooby on the tile floors. Although they don't recommend using any other cleaner (the instruction manual says it could ruin the cleaner and void the warranty). But the iRobot website said it was okay to use the vinegar/water solution and so far it's worked great.

Gee, I'm starting to sound like a commercial for these robot cleaners but we're really happy with them. Today I lounged reading a book while both Roomba and Scooba were at work cleaning. It was wonderful!

                              I have a filter question

I empty Roomba dust bin after each cleaning sprint but what about the filters and brushes?

Do you just rinse the filters and let air dry?How often? How about soap? Where do I buy new filters?

Is mine the only one that didn't come with an instruction manual?< Not a biggie they are on the iRobot website.>

Next week I'm turning him loose on the bedrooms.

Vinolover it is not a bad thing to sound like a commercial I am becomming quite enamored with mine too!
