Looks like they were able to get in the 2nd time because they never logged off my account. They can still get in if they are logged in with my old password. Ebay has now sussended my account for 24 hours so they can not list anything or try to change my password.

That stinks! Glad you caught it fast though. Will you still be able to keep that id? Any clue as to how it got stolen?

Frank....That's too bad. Thank God that you caught it, when you did. Any idea how they were able to get your password?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Not sure how they got Frank's, but I get a lot of those phishing emails from eBay & PayPal. NEVER click the link in the email. Always open another window and use your saved link to access those, or any personal sites.

I never open any of those phishing emails. When ever I get anything from ebay I send it to spoof@ebay.com, Now what I do find intersting is that I had an item for sale and it had 2 bids on it. Both bids were retracted about today. I am wondering if they had something to do with it.

                  What is your ebay rating?
Why do you think you were a target?
Was your P/w easy to guess or a combination of letters/numbers?
I wonder if this is happening to more people than we think.

I have a 100% perfect rating with close to 700 transactions. I had both letters and numbers in it. This is getting worse, I saw this on cnbc about a month back. EBay has a live chat, It took me 30 Minutes to get a rep both times. The 2nd time I requested a phone # for EBay the rep that was in the chat called me up instantly and suspended my account as he felt that they were still logged on with the old password. After 24 hours it will be reinstated and all should go back to the way it was prior to the account theft.

This really sucks...it would be nice to find out HOW they stole your P/W. I wonder if it was some type of spyware from viewing all those online videos.

Do you have a current anti-spyware monitor?

It could be spy ware. I do use a few spy wares but I do not run them daily.

You need real-time spyware protection, not a free utility you run once a week.

Check out Webroot Spy Sweeper. There are reviews on PC Mag, Cnet and PC World, but there is never a 100% clear winner. Webroot Spy Sweeper is usually at the top of all three reviews.

I believe spyware is a much worse problem than viruses these days.

                            A few thoughts here, Frank:
                            • Have you ever logged on to your eBay account from a public wireless HotSpot?
                            • Is your home wireless network encrypted?
                            • Have you ever logged on to your eBay account from a public terminal (e.g., in the lobby at a timeshare)?
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                            “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Did you ever get an e-mail complaint about something you had sold from someone who didn't buy it ?
