Tony I think your chat might possibly be canceled this week. Check the moderator forum, Ken had to disable the chat for good reasons.

I am very sorry! We have locked down the chat server because of a problem that is being investigated.

I will try to address the concerns so that the chat session can happen but the problem is really quite serious!

Please plan to still have the chat and if I need to I will post an alternate wy to get into the chat system that will be outside of our forums system.

The Chat server is running again!

The company we pay for the chat servise upgraded the chat software and while it looks similar it is not the same version! I have fixed the problems so the chat session is good to go!

I wouldn't be able to make the chat on Sunday whatever time it was held, but a time of 8pm EST effectively excludes all the European members as that is somewhere between 1am and 3am through Europe.
If you want to include Europe, assuming there would be any interest, it really needs to be done by 5pm EST at the latest.

Bruce from the UK used to stay up late for the old TUG Sunday night chats and we even had a fellow from Denmark join in sometimes. Let me not forget that Sydney also was known to make some appearances from down under.The time thing is a problem with a 3 hour difference in the East and West coasts in the USA. If somebody can come up with a time everybody likes there may be a career in office heating and air conditioning control in their future.

Did you have your chat tonight? I tried to get in the forum earlier but it was so slow that I gave up. Was there a problem tonight? We use Verizon FiOS (fiber optics) now and it is faster than DSL but not as fast as I had hoped for on the WWW but great for downloading or uploading huge files.

The Internet is getting so choked up that our "Government" promised to do something about it, I read in an article this week. It will be the "IPv6" and has to be in place by June 2008. I'll believe it when I see it. Talk is cheap.
