  • Ripped of by Woot

Hey folks, did any one else buy the hand held Sudoku Game. Mine came today and it doesn't work. It is stuck in the set clock/24 or 12 hour mode and the pressure buttons to change mode or any thing else don't work.
Too bad, it looks like it would be fun.
I bought it just as a stocking stuffer type thing for my wife as she likes these puzzles.
Anyway the shipping was almost as much as the game and dosen't look like it will be worth sending it back if I have to pay postage.
    Anyone know Woot's policys.
Oh well, live and learn I guess.

      Ken,
If you still want to get the wife a Sudoku game, my Walgreen's has them for about $5. That's probably without batteries, and I don't imagine you want to travel all the way to Vegas to get it, but you get the idea...

Fern, I would love to come out to Vegas to pick another game, but, alas, it's probably not the most practical way to get another one, but would probaly be one of the most fun ways!!

Got a message back from Woot, they are going to credit my charge card for the amount fo the game and they said Idon't have to send it back.
Frank, you were right they are very helpful and reasonable.

So you really weren't ripped off by Woot, then?

Actually I was. I bought something expecting it to work correctly, it didn't. Yes they were good to deal with after the fact but the fact remains that I didn't get what I paid for originally. You can think whatever you want but from my point of view I got ripped offl.

So, if you were to sell something to someone and unknown to you it had a defect, I guess you would say that you ripped off that person, even if you fully refunded their money. That is what you are saying.

So as a merchant, I should open every package, play with it and make sure it works, reseal the package and sell it as a new item. I DON'T THINK SO!

You purchased an item that was defective and the merchant gladly refunded your money, no questions asked. You didn't even have to return the item. I wish I had been treated that fairly in every transaction I have entered into in my lifetime.

I don't think RIPPED OFF applies to your situation.

                            Ken,

Maybe "ripped off "is a bit strong. Disappointed yeah. I would be too. Woot made good but you were expecting a working unit for your DW./
