  • The Soprano's want to use my house for filming.

I just got in and I found a notice in the mail box. It said that they are in the area and want to use my house in the next few weeks.
    What do I do?

OMG......You let them in, and hope that they like what they see......Maybe you can talk them into giving you a part on the show. You're a Goomba, afterall.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

What do you mean they want to "use" your house? Beags has some experience with this us, if she d/n see this try PMing her.

If they tell you to send a deposit, submit your SSN, License number, DNA sample, etc... Well, don't do it!

4Ms Get-together at Frank's!! We could probably talk them into writing a storyline in which Tony et al get into timeshare development...

Frank, sounds cool. I'm sure it would be fun to turn on the show and see your house there. But, hold out for the Big Frank part, I hear you're a natural for it. lol
              Good luck, goomba!

I called and did some snooping around. it is legit. I spoke to the Scout locator. He recalls my house very well. At the moment he said they want the front of the house and the steps coming out of the door way but they want to look inside as well. If they only use the out side it should be no more than a half day shoot. He will try contacting me again over the weekend and hopefully try to meet up with me by Monday. If it's only the outside and only a half day there most likely not be much money paid. I would forfeit the money for a part of course.

You think I should have the boys waiting for him to make him an offer he can't refuse?

I have a friend in City Island, and her house was in The Royal Tenenbaums. Location scouts had wanted her house for many different projects over the years and she always said no...but she said yes to this one because she has a thing for Gene Hackman!

Anyway, I hear it's pretty interesting, but best if they use only the exteriors. I've heard that if they use the interiors, they don't hesitate to just rip up carpeting if they don't like it, repaint rooms, move furniture, pull down curtains, whatever.

One story I've heard had them in a house where the hardwood floors squeaked a lot. The owner came home when they were done and after a few days noticed that the floors weren't squeaking anymore. He got down on his hands and knees to look at the floor and discovered that the film crew had hammered in hundreds of tiny nails to stop it from squeaking.

If they were to use the inside of my house, I would not allow them to change 1 thing. I have all Porcelain tiles on my first floor and 1 room has a wooden floor in mint condition with a tiny squeak in 1 spot with a Granite fireplace. My Kitchen was redone 2 years ago and we did not take any short cuts. It is all granite with all top appliances.

As for the outside goes I would not let them touch that either. We had the house Stuccoed 3 years ago and had the Bricks imported from Canada. The design with the bricks is unique. After we did our work other houses in the area have tried to copy it but they can't because of the bricks we used. The wall bricks cost $15 a foot and they are very hard to find.

If they want my house it will be as is with no alterations at all.

I have to be honest. If a film crew came in and ripped up my house, they could only improve it. Even the nails in the floor didn't seem so bad to me!

I wish a film crew would come in and fix my house!! But they would problem go running away. Unless it was for extreme home makeover, that would be nice
