I have never used Priceline, but want to start, since I see folks getting such great deals. How is the best way to learn about Priceline and how to use it as a cost savings tool.

Look around www.biddingfortravel.com for starters. Also go to Priceline and play around with the site, without placing a real bid on a hotel. You might have to give them your credit card info, but if you don't execute a search you won't be charged. You can also just 'play' by putting in really low bids, but that's how I ended up getting the Hilton in San Francisco without even meaning to. But the price was so good I was happy.

There's Better Bidding as well.
We used Priceline a couple of years ago and got great prices for hotels in LAX, Nola, BKK, SYD & FFR.Syd

W have done probably 500 nights through Priceline or Hotwire. We did four nights through them on our recent Florida trip.
I have a simple system that has always worked for us.
