I had the same initial reaction... but store price does not reflect value, so at $19 a wine rated this highly is already an excellent buy

I stopped buying Any thing French from the big French Boycott a few years back and never looked back. MY BIL hates that I do not stock Grey Goose but I seem to get a few bottles of that as gifts some times. I will admit that the French does have some of the best wines in the world but in IMO I rather have Italian.

BTW WM I agree I do not think this wine was discounted as much as others have been in the past. But with free shipping and no tax it is a good deal.

Yes, the copy doesn't make it sound too great. Also anything with the word "bodega" in the name has to work pretty hard to sound like it doesn't come from the bodega down the street.

I have had a few differnt Malbac's in the past. All have been prety good and they all sold in the $12-$20 RANGE.

Malbec is a good variety. I'm going to take a chance on this one. I'll let y'all know in a week or two.

I used to forget to STOP ORDERING THINGS before a vacation. Then a few months ago wine.woot.com tried to send a couple of bottles that were months and months late. We were on vacation. If I hadn't found out till we got back, that would have been okay, but my MIL got involved b/c the FedEx man left a sticker on our door. (P.S. Our next-door neighbor was robbed last year when the FedEx guy left a package on her doorstep in plain sight, so the robbers could tell she wasn't home. Now the FedEx guys are supposed to be more careful.)

Instead of just peeling the sticker off the door, MIL called FedEx and argued with them, then called me on vacation and gave me an earful for being so silly as to have ordered wine (bit disapproving here as you can get perfectly acceptable wine for $3 a bottle from Trader Joe's) through the mail when we were going on vacation. No amount of saying "I ordered it four months ago!" would do it. So then I had to call FedEx and be told the same thing she had been told. Then call her back and tell her what FedEx had said. (Several times, b/c she's almost deaf.) Then have her get angry at FedEx for being so stupid and inflexible.

So now I don't forget!!!

I got my Brunellos today. I sure hope the other two shipments have already gone out and will get here by Friday, look what they posted today:
