I went to a winery tour in California and the tour leader mentioned plastic corks. When everybody groaned, he said that plastic corks and screwtops are the wave of the future--they're stronger, cleaner, and more dependable than cork and they don't affect the taste of the wine.

But, you know...I would still e-mail the wine site and tell them that you're not happy about the screwtops, that it's something they should have disclosed in the description and now you feel that you can't give the wine as gifts or serve it to friends. I do think they should mention the screwtops when the wine is for sale, not let you discover it on your own!

I got the itch. I would like to get that wine today but I don't have any room for it. I have to many unopened boxes of wine just sitting there.
Avery have you tried the Brunello yet was it good? I still have mine in the unopened box.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

They refunded my full purchase price for the damaged shipment since they are sold out of it, so no customer service problems
To balance things out, I opened the screwtop... it's not completey awful, but I like Yellowtail a whole lot better...

Now If you rather have Yellow tail then thats not saying much for the screw cap.
BTW have you tried Red Fish. I saw a Commercial for the box that has a spout that stays in the fridge.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms
