  • Probable Snow Event for the Northeast

Forecast for Tues/Wed is 3 to 6 inches in NYC and Long Island.

Lucky me being north and west of the city will get up to a foot.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I shipped out everyone's snowboards/skis/etc. on Friday. DS15 is so upset about not being able to go do stupid things with his snowboard like the post office stairs, etc...

And I should be happy... we are leaving for Killington Vermont and we were planning to drive up from Philli PA are on wednesday morning...

Now, looks like we need to get out a day earlier if we can and I really hope we don't get a lot of snow up in Killington as I am an east coast ice skier and if I get a foot or more of powder I am not going to be able to ski

I may need to rent some all-mountain or powder skis as my carving skis work great on the ice or groomed stuff but they sure don't float under my weight....

Anybody else headed to go skiing would be happy... me, I just hope the storm is kind for me...

I didn't even think of that, but you're right, we all get to suffer together.

Frank, can't you use Netzero (5 hrs free per month) until Larry the cable guy shows up.

Very miserable day here in NW CT. We were expecting 10-14" of snow, but after an inch or two it has been all sleet and freezing rain. Blizzard conditions are expected later in the day. Still haven't used that snow thrower.

Yeah, it's pretty ugly out here, too. We didn't get much more than a dusting on Long Island, but, we are getting some light freezing rain at the moment. I think more of the same, along with high winds are predicted, for the remainder of the day.

                        Schools are closed.
We only got a few inches but the freezing rain is supposed to turn back to snow later on.

Nasty conditions. So we will stay in and bake cookies instead. I just took the butter out to soften.

Tony you must have bought that snow thrower AFTER last years big snow.

Here in upstate NY (north of Albany) we have about 6-8 inches so far, but,l the snow is coming down harder. Expecting 18-24 inches before it is all done. Possibly some freezing rain later this afternoon but hope not. Would rather it would just stay as snow.

We also got no snow...I guess it's icy out there but I haven't ventured out. School is cancelled here as well.

I wish I could bake cookies...but my son and I are both doing the low carb thing. In fact, it's been difficult to find creative things to make for him everyday and to not make the girls the easy/typical pasta and mac and cheese that I do when in a rush. Now that we have the whole day stretched before us...I need some ideas!!

Well I got up at 5:30 to check for school closings, nothing announced. They waited until 6:30 to announce a two hour delay. At 7 am, when the busses would originally have been on the roads, there was just a little dusting and no active precipitation.

NOW it is sleeting/hailing and the roads are icy, but the busses are on their way
