    I friend just sent me this link to view a Memphis newsprogram on lock bumping--a very simple way to gain entry to 90% of homes. I really believe everyone should see this and evaluate their own locks.

      Saw the video. Yikes!
      The tv station site also shows easy ways to prevent it here. It's the first one, "Easy Ways To Prevent Lock Bumping".

          Well the videos for prevention has some really cheap solutions also.

            Yes, but unfortunately, those solutions appear to work only from the inside--nothing to have in place when you're gone.

              True. What a shame.

              Although I guess it's better that they can't get in while anyone's home. A lady at our church got broken into while she was home. She hid and called the police but was petrified the whole time.

                Eek! We spent a lot of money on Schlage locks when we moved into the house a few years ago.

                edited to add: Apparently, only Shlage primus locks are safe from this...
