What is the site to request that unwanted credit card offers stop coming in the mail? Has anyone tried this and does it work?

Just signed up myself so I do not know how well it works. I heard about it on the Clark Howard Show

Our kids are member of United Airlines frequent flyer program. For some reason Chase got a hold of their 'credit' information except for their birth dates or decided to ignore their birth dates and has sent pre-approved UA credit card applications for years. I have called several times to have them stop and the Chase reps said they would or that we needed to contact the above referenced service. I told them repeatedly that we shouldn't have to put them on the opt out list as the only one who sends them the applications was UA Chase.
Well Chase kept sending them until I finally figured out that I needed to talk to the security department at Chase. They took care of it and sent us letters confirming that they would stop sending these to our kids. Finally."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."
-- Thomas Jefferson to Col. Yancey, 1816
