Our local area has been taken over by the Irish for 4 days. There is the biggest National Hunt horse race meeting of the year taking place and the Irish love their racing. They are a great bunch and never cause any trouble -win or lose. All the same I'll stick with my Scottish connection, after all we make the only Whisky in the world.

We will hopefully be at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta....that is if the bad weather forecast for Hartford does not make us miss our Atlanta connection....I doubt that there will be any celebrating in Mexico for St. Patrick's Day....but you can bet we will have a few drinks to celebrate....

Driving to Nashville, flying to Phoenix, driving to Tucson and staying at the PMC-Varsity Club. Any Irish in Tucson, AZ?

Delta nicely accomodated us and is letting us fly out of Hartford today....then will overnight in Atlanta (we pay hotel) and hopefully be all set to fly to PV tomorrow....With the luck of the Irish, we can begin celebrating St. Patrick's Day, early in Mexico!!!!!!!

We're still in Mexico, but we're headed for a party--corned beef and cabbage, of course.

Yup......Snow for NY, too. Sheesh, just when you think that spring has sprung.

It's official, we'll be going to our local haunt, the Graveyard, for $2 green beers and corned beef/cabbage. Oh and they're also having Guinness marinated lamb shanks and other stuff that's faux-Irish. Here are some photos of one of our fave local restaurants/bars...it used to be a seed & feed store, then it became a motorcycle shop/"graveyard", now it's a refurbed historic bldg turned into a great restaurant and local hotspot in EAV. I already served my corned beef and cabbage to the family last night.
I knew we'd never be together on Saturday (teenagers).
Turns out I will not be home either - I am going to a Beatles convention held at a hotel in Secaucus NJ for some fun times and good music.

Carol...Sounds like fun!!!! The Graveyard Tavern looks nice. I have to admit, tho....Not sure about the 'green beer'. I hate eating, and drinking anything with green food coloring. Somehow, it all looks so gross. I particularly hate green icing, on cookies, and cakes!! Yuck!!

You're right Angela! I sure hope they don't mistakenly marinate those lamb shanks in green beer...or they might be served up with the look of rotten meat with a green tinge! Ugh!!! They'd better stick with marinating in Guinness...or for a real kick if they run out of Guinness, go with Stella!
