Thanks, that was very informative....But, boiled bacon doesn't sound that appealing to me. Or, did I get that wrong.

I did take a look at some of the recipes, and am contemplating making one of them. I'm heading out to Stop & Shop now, in the snow & wind.

We will have corned beef, cabbage and new potatoes, the Irish tradition. Since we are both mostly irish, seems fitting. Plus, there is the wearin' o' the green! So I will look like this:

I was going to make cornbeef & cabbage. But, being the Italian that I am, I caved, in the supermarket, and just came back with sausage & peppers.....Anyway, the red peppers were on sale.

what is a "Departed" house? Has that to do with the filming? I forgot the title of the show.

One more question here. Why do they celebrate St. Patrick's day but not St. David's day on March 1 or do they?

The answer to that is quite simple.........Have you ever tried not buying something from an Irishman?

St Paddy's Day has to be the best sale ever made anywhere in the world

Have a great day folks, and don't make too much noise tomorrow morning because Guinness and Black Bush are terrible awful tings for giving you a head ache...............The oirish even sold the idea to us English

I will be cooking my corned beef and cabbage tomorrow, since my 24 and 22 year olds informed they they will be pub hopping today. I am hoping the temperatures get over the freezing mark so the roads are not as dangerous. It was treacherous here last night.

Last Sunday I was at a Hibernians' St. Paddy's Day party, and my aunt who grew up in Ireland told me she never even tasted corned beef until she came to this country.

Was 80 here for two days. Turned off to 35 with rain all night. Rain stopped last evening but still cool and windy. My green tank top got dropped into the hamper.

No snow. Things are greening up here. Daffadil are blooming everywhere, as are the periwinkle. Grass is greening up.

One wheel drive-motor on the Terramite burst a seal and is torn up. While awaiting the new motor, I'll be pruning all the (green) Holly trees.

We'll have cabbage, bake sweet potato and ham. May color the cabbage green, just to be funny.

We'll be celebrating my son's 2nd birthday. Perhaps we'll have to buy a green cake!

Nooooooooo.....Just put a couple of Saint Paddy's plastic decorations on the cake. This way, you can take them off, and still have an appetizing looking cake. Of course, only if you think that might be a good idea.
