We all have some history. Some good, in my case mostly good. Some bad and those seem to have been resolved one way or another.

My post about going to guest status was more about going to guest status. As a moderator here. An exchange opportunities maven. My initial thoughts were about paying for what we have here for free.

Ok, so I'll take it in a direction. How about back to whatever the request is OY?

At first I thought that all that will happen for those who don't do whatever is it we are supposed to do is that we will get relabeled.

Now, with all this discussion, I'm getting the feeling it is more than that.

I happen to have a lot on my plate right now, so trying to figure out something for a site that I visit isn't really on my list. If all it means is going from TUG Member to Guest, and not having access to member's only stuff, I can deal with that.

If it means more than that, like not being able to log-in at all, or losing stuff that is stored to my ID, well, that's something else.

Anyone know what not doing it will mean?

I hope someone who knows will chime in. I have no idea. Many folks seem to be having difficulty with this. I'm hoping I can do nothing and still go there after April 23rd.

Time will tell.

I'm confused about what caused the rift, too. And although I am curious about it, I do kinda get the drift & so try to be as polite & open minded as I can.

There was a massive bust-up over the way a large number of people perceived moderator actions. I'll say no more than that.

I don't have much of a problem with TUG either...but as Wacky said earlier...I would like to see more recent Resort info.

We geek-newbies need DATA!

There has been a campaign on TUG to increase the number of reviews. I don't know how successful it was for other areas but it certainly increased the number of reviews for European resorts.

As far as I know the only thing you will lose is not being able to see the reviews which is nice to have and you will not get your classified ad. I believe you still get into the Sighting forum but I am not sure.

JFYI, I have continued to support Tug and am still on a paid Subscription there even though I do not have the time to go there as offen as I wish. I still do want to help keep the site alive. I just no longer have the time to go there every day like I used to. This site takes most of my day up now.

Anybody who doesn't enter a valid Member Code will be identified by the system as Guest and will not have access to the 'pay to view' areas. I also found the original instructions extemely confusing, but new instructions which contain the relevant screenshots have now been added. Following the process now looks pretty straight forward.
