I've apparently been given *one* six-month extension for writing reviews on TUG. But I've written numerous reviews there. Also, I'm the person who devised the Sightings board (I had to lobby hard for it as certain TUG admins didn't want the extra work). I also recommended and got Cat approved to moderate. Did I get a thank you from the grand poobah for starting up a member-value forum that surely has increased their revenue stream? Nah...he was too busy trying to get his name in the paper. I feel things are improving OY since "dad" stepped down and with Brian now in charge of things. Brian is more involved and pro-active, imo.

TS4Ms has a smaller membership, but for a newbie website that doesn't aggressively publicize itself it sure ain't a bad start. TS4Ms is all about *quality*, imo, not quantity. Old friends of mine here remember my Yahoo groups Hodgepodge Lodge and Las Olas...those were my feeble attempts to gather together experienced timesharers without any heavy hands of censorship. Now I'm happy to say that TS4Ms fulfills that niche in my life! Many kudos to Ken and Frank and all who make this site a great place to hang out!

Here's what I've gleaned about TUG's 6-month membership extentions for writing a review: TUG just did a special promo on that, giving this specific perk (choice of 6-mo add'l membership OR free ad) during March. This promo deadline worked - it got me to finish up 2 that I'd begun. Then at the end of March, they decided to extend that incentive for reviews that didn't have one for the past 6 months (I think - you'd have to check). I don't think they apply this membership extention automatically, you have to request where to apply it, since there is a choice of freebies. But it's a new feature, it hadn't been there in the past, so don't feel slighted about not having received it in the past... it's just a present and future incentive to get more updated reviews in.

On the general subject of compare and contrast (tho I know this wasn't the original topic), I really like both sites and usually visit both sites daily, for different reasons, most of which have been mentioned.

Here, I love the sightings, the political forum, the expanded range of what can be discussed, the jokes, and the ease of reading new posts. I like having more of a sense of the people posting.

There, I love the reviews database and the general TS info. I like that there are more posters, and that you can ask a question about almost anything under the sun, and there will be an expert answer or three.

There are sections of, and specific posts on, both sites that I never, or rarely - read... their presence doesn't bother me.

I'm happy to pay the membership fee there because I more than get my money's worth, and for the record I would be happy to pay the same for this site. I really appreciate the thousand hours of work by the volunteers on both sites - I'm sure it can be like having a(nother) full-time job except for no paycheck.

According to the Gospel of John, the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Jesus, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences that they departed. When Jesus found himself alone with the woman, he asked her who were her accusers. She replied, “No man, lord.” Jesus then said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.”

Is this a round-about way of telling us that you've committed adultery?

I giggle whenever someone OY refers to guests as freeloaders. Just as I've received help, I've also given it. I don't contribute to the reviews, and I don't read them - seems fair.

Then there was the big debate about raising LMR and how some people wanted it to be members only. I intentionally stayed out of that thread (freeloader that I am) and waited for someone to post the obvious: if a guest can't post their LMR, they also cannot respond to your need for a renter.

Years and years ago I decided I would never pay for internet content and I never have. Tuggers cannot guilt me into it and I do not refer to myself as 'a tugger' since I expect there are plenty of them keeping score.
