  • I need to ship a very large package...

It is too big for Fed Ex or UPS. It measures about 60"x45"x40". Can you recommend a freight carrier? TIA

You can't use USPS? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when I checked out their website recently, I thought they shipped some really large items. Maybe I misread.

    Found this on their site.

    Large Package

Use for packages when the length plus girth (the distance around the thickest part) of a package is more than 84 inches but not more than 108 inches. For packages over 108 inches but not more 130 inches, see oversized package.

If you are unsure of your package category, select “Large Package” on the first page of the rate calculator. You will be prompted to enter your package dimensions and the correct rate will be calculated.

My son has used DHL in the past for oversize packages and they have reasonable rates.

Oversized packages cannot exceed 130" (length plus girth). Mine is 230".

Where are you shipping it from and where are you shipping it to, all in lower 48?

I was able to break it down to a size that I can now ship via Greyhound Shipping for $61.00. Not too bad!

If it is not to last I would get a price from DHL. My son said it is much cheaper to ship DHL. He sells a lot of motorcycle parts on Ebay. Exhaust systems can be costly. I don't work for DHL.

                  It's too big for DHL.

Look to see if you have a Gator Freight in your area. I have used them before and they are reasonable.

You can try Fed Ex Freight. You just have to check out their insurance policy. There are different rates for used and new items being shipped.
