Is a "Wootoff" different than a regular "Woot"?

Yes normally there is just 1 item in 24 hours. During a woot off once an item sells out they put up a new one right away. It lasts about 2-3 days.

        Frank,
Just went to woot.com to see a sold out item...when do they offer the next item? Is there a waiting time when something is sold out?

          About one to two minutes.

Wooting an FM transmitter right now. I bought a similar item on a two-for-one woot about three months ago. Love it.

You plug an audio device into it with a standard 3.5 mm jack (the same jack used for headphone output) and the transmitter broadcasts the output as an FM signal. Then you tune your FM radio to that frequency. It's perfect for listening to an iPod or mockpod if your car doesn't have an auxiliary input.

Last trip to Whistler I loaded my mockpod with eight hours worth of MP3s and listened to my music all the way (except for the portion across Vancouver where CBUX has a clear signal.

And by the time I finish typing this message that woot is done and they're doing some Athlon PCs.

Thank you for the explanation! I'll take a look for the next bargain I can't resist.

Just bought the Roomba! I have been wanting one for awhile--not sure how well they work, or how well it will hold up, but the idea looks great. Thank you for the tip!

Thare are about a dozen or two members that have also bought the Roomba from woot in the past. Do a search for Roomba both in this forum and in the G & A cafe and you will see the feed back on it.

Steve, I know I'm totally retro here...but would that work with my CD Walkman?

Probably. I'm guessing your Walkman has a standard 3.5 mm female headphone jack. To put the Walkman on your car radio, you use a connector that has 3.5 mm male jacks on each end (the unit will probably come with one of those connectors). Insert one jack into the Walkman and the other into the transmitter, plug the transmitter into the cig lighter (should power on automatically), adjust the frequencies of the transmitter and the radio, and voila! - now you're listening to your Walkman through the car radio.

To distill that to a single sentence: If a device has a standard headphone jack, it will work with this transmitter.

I bought the DVD /VHS recorder to give to DH for Father's Day. He wants to put our old VHS home movies onto DVD. This should keep him busy til his birthday in Sept. It didn't seem like anyone else wanted it, though, because it was on for a long time. Right now they have a Chaucer's wine trio.
