Glitter's Umbria was delish. My only regret is that I didn't knock back more of it while I had the chance!

For me the discount at this site is the thing. So far I think we all agree that if they say the original price of the wine was X, then that is a true number and you can see how substantial the discount is. I can always go to a local wine store and pick up a good $10 or $12 bottle of wine...but at this site $10 or $12 will get you a REALLY good bottle of wine.

I have one bottle left And you're right. That bottle cost me about $20, retails for $40-50, would cost double or more in a restaurant. NO WAY I'd get it any other way...

thanks, Frank, I got one. Will save for a dinner with friends, along with the Ferrari Carano I've still got. The large bottles are safer here, i don't open them quite as casually

I changed my mind. I bought the last 2 bottles they had.

They are now sold out and a new wine is there now.

Well considering you have been pining for it, and begging them to get it for you, I'm certain you won't be sorry. Except when your lovely wife puts you out with the dog

I bought 5 all together so I figure 1 I will open for Fathers day, 1 I will give away as a gift, 1 I will open when I have all my friends over, 1 when I will have my other friends over and 1 I will save just for show.

Good, it sold out just as I was grappling with my conscience. I was rationalizing it by saying we could serve it at my DD's bat mitzvah and that would be very festive and blah blah blah and after all, that might be enough wine for the whole crowd....phew. Just as well it's gone, now I have several months to shop.

These go for about $65 to $75 in the stores plus tax. $40 shipped was a steal with out paying tax or shipping for 1. The same bottle in the 750Ml goes for about $24 plus tax. This is like getting two bottles for $20 each. The large bottles are hard to find and most restaurants try to gobble these up to keep for show.

Okay, I was wrong! I should have bought it!

Oh well. My four bottles of sauvignon blanc from the other day arrived yesterday. I'm going to go stick them in the refrigerator.

My sauvignon blanc came. Screw tops. Damn. Maybe I can pretend I didn't notice, and still give bottles as presents.

I had the same reaction the first time I got a screwtop aussie wine from the site. But I opened a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc last night, and it is quite nice. And the Yerling Chardonnay just came, also screwtop. Seems a lot of aussie wineries are going that route.

I heard on a wine tour I was on last year that screw tops are actually better for the wine and that many winemakers are starting to go that route. As long as it wasn't "wine in a box"...................
