Paris Hilton was released from Jail today for an unspecified medical condition. It was probably a runny nose. She basically got the equivalent of 45-days of being grounded by her parents.
I wonder if her popularity will start waning now? For the past few years, she has been an icon of infamy for her partying exploits. However, what she doesn't know is that Fame is fleeting. Ask any teen idol what happened to them after their fans got bored with them. Depression, drugs and self destruction often times followed.
I believe there is a chance that she will be a lot less popular than before this commuted sentence. Why? Because there is tremendous anger at her and her kind by normal folks in this country. I was very surprised at reports I saw about how angry people were that she would even consider asking Arnold for a pardon. Average everyday people wanted very badly to see her serve the just penalty that she received for the deeds she did.
So, let's play it out. She gets 45-days jail time. The general public cheers beyond belief. Finally, Paris gets what she deserves. There is a chance that she will learn an important lesson in life. That is, you screw up and you pay the penalty.
Then, she gets her penalty commuted in half for good behavior and she hasn't even served day one. Doesn't someone have to make an assessment of that performance AFTER the fact? Average Joe and Jane are getting angrier.
Now, after only 5-days (3 full days and 2 partial days) of the already commuted sentence, she gets out and goes home for an unspecified medical condition. THIS WILL BE A BIG STORY that will follow her around for a LONG TIME. It MAY end her career, whatever it was.
I am not an entertainment mogul and I couldn't predict who will win an academy award if they gave me the winners list ahead of the show. I do know when every day Americans are pissed off. And, this will probably be considered over the top by most Americans.
I can't wait to see the analysis on today's news programs.
I could be wrong. But, I can tell you that I have turned from neutral to Paris Hilton to very negative. I'm probably not the only one.
If she had a very good publicist. They would probably advise Paris to clear up her medical condition and go back to jail for the full 23-days completely out of her own volition. Then, she would gain sympathy from some of her detractors.
Hmm. Maybe not. The partying, live for today generation doesn't give a dang about doing the upstanding thing. After all, it's all about "me" to them. They may just turn her into even more of a pop icon.
I'm not concerned. America will turn on her eventually. It always does when it finds the next teen idol. You can never escape your own Karma.
